This is a very special place for me, because that is where I lived with the Bindon family while studying at Launceston College as an exchange student in 1995.
The beautiful little town of Westbury is situated at the highway from Launceston to Devontport about 10 min from Deloraine.
The town was founded in 1823 by the Field family. It used to by an Irish garrison.
A part of Westbury is known as Pensioner's Bush. This name is derived from the times when Irish soldier were given five arces of land after their service at the garrison.
